The CP Match Event was a Success!

On Monday I participated in a Twitter event designed to help writers connect with other writers looking for Critique Partners. Using the hash tag #CPMatch, people pitched their stories, provided a bit of info on their critique style, and scrolled through the entries for ones that sounded like a good fit. Once you found a potential match, a quick tweet or DM to the person helped get the ball rolling.

I'm excited to say that I found a few people to exchange manuscripts with! I have a critique partner I currently work with, but I think it's important to have a few different people critique my work so that I can start to see patterns and hear diverse opinions. There's no guarantee that each of the people I connected with on Monday will work out over the long term, but I'm hopeful that we'll be able to forge a productive working relationship.

I'm so happy that I decided to take part, and I'm looking forward to taking the next step with my WIPs. If you're looking for a critique partner and missed the event, scroll down through the entries of the #CPMatch hash tag. I know there were people looking to create critique groups, and there was even talk of holding the event again in the near future.

Good luck!

P.S. If you think you'd be a good fit to be my critique partner, send me an email with a brief synopsis of your story, and I'll get back to you!

  1. This is such a great idea! I'm glad you had some success with it! I just wrote a book at the end of last year as part of NaNoWriMo, but I'm not quite there yet looking for critique partners, but I will have to keep my eye out if this happens again. :)
