I'm Kathleen, and I started Kat's Book Buzz in January 2013. The goal of this site is to share my thoughts on the books I read, in the hopes of helping you find your next great read. Hopefully you'll find my reviews interesting and informative, and they'll inspire you to pick up a new book, maybe even one you weren't planning on reading.
I have been a book lover since I was a child, and I was known to bring a book with me everywhere I went. That habit hasn't changed since then, so I decided to begin keeping a list of my reads, along with my thoughts for future reference. While this site will focus mainly on recent releases, if I do read or discover an older book that I think is worth a look, I'll include reviews for those books too.
I'm a teacher currently at home with my youngest son and working as a freelance writer. My oldest son is gluten free, and in addition to this blog, I run Celiac Baby! When I'm not reading, I'm blogging, writing fiction or watching sports. I speak English, French and Spanish, and I love to travel. I'm working on passing on the travel bug to my kids, too.
What do I read?A loaded question. I read a variety of genres, and I'm generally open to suggestions of books that I usually wouldn't pick up. It's probably easier to talk about what I DON'T read. I'm not a fan of horror, because I'm a wimp and horror scares the crap out of me. I do enjoy thrillers and murder mysteries, though.
I read both fiction and non-fiction. I enjoy Literary, Contemporary and Mainstream Fiction, some Chic-Lit, Teen/YA, New Adult, Paranormal, Dystopian, Fantasy, and some Science Fiction. As I mentioned earlier, I'm always open to suggestions and always looking to discover an author or series that I can fall in love with. I review cookbooks as well, and run a cookbook of the month program on my Celiac Baby! site.
About This SiteIn addition to regular book reviews, I also post author interviews, publishing news, giveaways and I participate in book tours.
I'm excited to be embarking on this journey of celebrating books and the people who love them.
